Launch of the International DIGISKILLS Project with USUST Participation

Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies has begun its participation in the international project “Enhancing Digital Skills in Higher Education in the Water Sector” (DIGISKILLS) under the Erasmus+ program. The project aims to integrate digital technologies into the educational process, update academic programs and laboratory equipment, and improve the digital literacy of students and faculty members.

The initiative for USUST’s participation was led by the Department of Inorganic Substances and Ecology at the SEI USUCT, which actively develops international cooperation and implements digital tools in the field of water technologies.

The kickoff meeting took place on February 10–12, 2025, at the University of Niš (Serbia). USUST was represented by Professor Viktor Hevod, Associate Professor Olena Hruzdieva, and Professor Roman Smotraiev (online).

Over the course of three days, participants discussed the key objectives of the project, including:

  • Implementing digital solutions in water sector disciplines;
  • Upgrading laboratory equipment at participating universities;
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange between European and Ukrainian higher education institutions;
  • Expanding academic partnerships and student exchange programs.

The USUST team presented the university, its research directions, and its potential in the field of water technologies, as well as contributed to the strategic planning of the project’s next stages.

We express our gratitude to the Department of Inorganic Substances and Ecology for its initiative, as well as to our colleagues from the University of Niš for their warm welcome and productive discussions. Ahead lies the implementation of crucial tasks that will contribute to the digital transformation of education!
