Horizon Europe Information Day at USUST
On April 23, 2025, Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted the National Information Day of the EU Program Horizon Europe. The event was held at the only National Contact Point in the Prydniprovie region dedicated to “Climate, Energy, and Mobility”, established at USUST.
The event gathered over 90 participants both in person and online, including researchers, educators, students, representatives of research institutions, and public organizations.
With a welcoming speech, Ihor Taranov, Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine at the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of Ukrainian universities’ participation in Horizon Europe project implementation.
The event program covered four key topics:
- Focus areas and calls under Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy, and Mobility”;
- Financial aspects of participation in the Program;
- Scientific support for applications;
- Building effective teams for international projects.
Olha Kurykina, Senior Specialist of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, provided an in-depth overview of financial issues — from proposal submission to reporting.
Vladyslav Danishevskyi, Head of the National Contact Point at USUST and professor, outlined current opportunities within the cluster and presented the university’s experience in the completed international project EffectFact. Other speakers shared practical tools for joining the Program and recommendations for preparing successful applications.
The event once again demonstrated that the university’s strategic engagement in European research initiatives opens new opportunities for international cooperation and integration into the European Research Area.
