Dear colleagues, students, and freshmen!
I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new 2025–2026 academic year!

September 1st has always been a special day. For lecturers and staff, it marks the continuation of their dedicated work; for senior students – it is another step toward professional growth; and for first-year students, it is the beginning of a great journey into the world of knowledge and discoveries.
We are starting the academic year in challenging times. Ukraine has been defending its independence for the fourth year in the struggle against russian aggression. In such conditions, the role of science and education is of special importance: the reconstruction of our state, its competitiveness, and its future depend on your training.
Our University has strong grounds for pride. Today, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies ranks among the TOP-10 best universities in Ukraine according to reputable national rankings. This is a shared achievement of lecturers, researchers, staff, and students – the result of daily work, innovative projects, international cooperation, and the trust of our students
Ahead we have new tasks and ambitious goals. We must respond to the challenges of our time, shape a modern educational and scientific process, and develop key sectors:
- in the rocket and space field – to create new technologies for security and communications;
- in construction – to train specialists for the reconstruction of Ukraine using 3D printing, modern materials, and energy-saving solutions;
- in chemistry – to work on innovative materials, next-generation fuels, and waste utilization technologies;
- in transport – to optimize logistics and increase the efficiency of transportation;
- in metallurgy – to develop ‘green’ steel and new alloys for mechanical engineering.
Today, USUST is a multidisciplinary educational and research center that has united the expertise of seven educational and scientific institutes. Together with colleges and the lyceum of Digital Technologies and Design, we create an environment where future engineers, architects, researchers, and managers grow.
Dear students! Every lecture, practical class, or laboratory work is not only a step toward your diploma but also a contribution to the reconstruction of Ukraine. USUST opens unique opportunities for you: dual diplomas — Ukrainian and European, international programs, and participation in research projects. I am confident that among you are those whose names will stand alongside outstanding Ukrainian scholars: Vernadskyi, Mechnikov, Amosov, Korolov, Sikorskyi, Voronyi.
I wish our lecturers and staff inexhaustible energy and I wish our students perseverance, inspiration, and faith in their own strength. May the new academic year bring us shared achievements and a confident path forward!
