Greetings on the New 2024-2025 Academic Year
Honorable colleagues, dear students, and personnel!
Today, we begin the new academic year 2024-2025 at our Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. This is a special year that requires us to mobilize all our strength and resources, as our learning takes place under the conditions of a full-scale war waged by Russia against our country. Therefore, we must care not only for providing high-quality education but also for ensuring the safety of our students and personnel.
We face an extraordinarily important task: preparing specialists who will form the foundation for the rebuilding and strengthening of our country. Ukraine needs an engineering elite in all fields. We must recognize our strategic goals and build our educational and scientific activities in each of our five institutions accordingly. In the aerospace sector, we will focus on developing new technologies to enhance security and communication systems. In construction, our graduates will participate in the massive reconstruction of infrastructure and housing, particularly using advanced materials, 3D printing technologies, and energy-saving solutions. In the chemical sector, we are creating innovative materials, including next-generation fuels for rockets, and addressing waste disposal issues to ensure sustainable development.
The transport sector requires new solutions to optimize logistics, improve speed and efficiency of transportation, especially in military conditions. Tomorrow’s metallurgy involves green steel-making technologies, creating new materials for 3D printing parts in machine engineering, and searching for cutting-edge alloys with unprecedented characteristics.
Our university is a powerful educational and scientific center that has united the best practices of five institutions and has a significant impact on the development of science and technology not only in the Dnipro region but also in Ukraine as a whole. Together with our institutes and the Digital Technologies and Design Lyceum, we nurture future specialists for a multi-sectoral industry, playing an essential role in building a modern and independent Ukraine.
International cooperation, dual degrees, relevant educational programs, and research projects are our current realities and guidelines for the future. Thanks to the efforts of our scholars and educators, we have the opportunity to reach new horizons and become leaders in the field of engineering education.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone currently involved in preparing tomorrow’s engineering specialists, especially the Department of Military Training, which prepares officers capable of defending our shared future. I am confident that together we can realize the ambitious plans for the development of our university, integrate the successes of each institute and division, and achieve synergy among the five institutions that make up our powerful educational community.
Together, we will achieve victory not only in education but also on the battlefields for the freedom of our country. Let us create the future together, achieve victories, and rebuild our beloved Ukraine!
