Guest lecture on leadership and resilience at USUST

On March 26, 2026, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted the first lecture in the guest lecture series ‘Transformational Leadership: from student desk to managerial role’
 
The event was initiated by the Department of Economics, Management, and Entrepreneurship of the SEI ‘PSACEA’ USUST. The lecture was moderated by Associate Professor Nadiia Shapa. The purpose of the series is to support professional and personal development of the university’s students.
 
The first guest speaker was Oksana Vovchenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, PhD in Project Management, consultant in organizational development, leadership, and personnel management, business trainer, coach, and motivator with 25 years of managerial experience.
 
During the lecture ‘How to manage yourself and build resilience to current challenges’, the participants focused on key aspects of personal effectiveness. The discussion covered the first steps toward change, conditions for developing resilience, causes of emotional exhaustion, managing one’s personal energy, and creating a supportive and inspiring environment.
The event united around 50 students from various specialties of the Faculty of Economics at the SEI ‘PSACEA’, as well as students and lecturers from other educational and scientific institutes of USUST and higher education institutions in Kyiv.
 
The participants had the opportunity not only to gain new knowledge, but also to exchange impressions and experiences. For those who were unable to attend, a recording of the lecture is available upon request via Oksana Vovchenko’s page.
 
The next lecture in the series ‘How to find the right employer, successfully pass a job interview, and adapt productively in the workplace’, is scheduled for April.
