First Meeting of the Working Group of NCP “Horizon Europe”
On October 4, 2024, the National Contact Point (NCP) of the European Union’s Research and Innovation Programme “Horizon Europe” began its work, based at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST). A corresponding agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Education and Science and the University.
The NCP network is a highly professional support service that provides guidance, advice, and assistance to all participants of the “Horizon Europe” Programme. NCP plays a key role in achieving the Programme’s goals and expected outcomes, ensuring that it becomes well-known and accessible to all interested parties, regardless of the competition’s themes or scientific fields.
The NCP at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies — the only one in the Prydniprovsk region — has been opened under one of the most relevant and highly-funded directions of the Programme: “Climate, Energy, and Mobility.” This direction is aimed at implementing two of the five global missions of the European Union: 1) adaptation to climate change and 2) the creation of climate-neutral and smart cities.
The NCP is headed by Acting Director of the Scientific and Educational Institute “Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture,” Professor Vladyslav DANISHEVSKYI. Vladyslav DANISHEVSKYI is a laureate of scientific scholarships from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Soros Fund Charitable Foundation, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, NATO, DAAD, and Marie Curie. He has conducted long-term scientific research and taught at the Technical University of Aachen (Germany), the University of Rouen (France), and the University of Kiel (Great Britain). He is an honorary scientific fellow named after Theodor von Karman at the Technical University of Aachen. Professor Danyshevskyi has extensive experience in successfully managing international scientific projects under the Humboldt Foundation and Horizon Europe programmes.
