Diploma Awarding Ceremony to the Honours Master’s Graduates of the SEI ‘DIIT’ USUST

On February 11, 2026, a ceremony of diploma awarding was held in the conference hall of the SEI ‘Dnipro Institute of Infrastructure and Transport’ of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. Diplomas were presented to 18 master’s graduates who completed their studies with honours.

 

The ceremony was attended by the First Vice-Rector of USUST, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Anatolii Radkevych, the Director of the Institute, Mykhailo Kapitsa, as well as faculty deans and heads of departments.

 

This year’s graduates represent a generation that pursued their education during an exceptionally challenging period. Their studies took place during the realities of war – air raid alerts, missile and drone attacks, power outages, distance learning, and classes held in shelters. Despite all these challenges, they not only successfully completed their studies but also demonstrated a high level of professional training, academic engagement, and dedication to their chosen field.

Returning to the graduates, Professor Anatolii Radkevych emphasized the importance of future-oriented thinking, continuous development, and modern education. He noted that only in 2025, the institute invested approximately UAH 20 million in laboratory and research equipment to ensure that students study using up-to-date facilities and receive high-quality education.

 

In his address, the First Vice-Rector, Professor Anatolii Radkevych, shared a personal story of professional growth as an example of continuous self-development: ‘After graduating from university, I thought it was time to enjoy life. Seven years passed, and I saw my colleagues already pursuing postgraduate studies while I was wasting time. So I enrolled and completed my PhD, and later my doctoral studies. I defended my doctoral dissertation at the age of 45. Then I realized once again: if I stop, in a few years I will no longer be a professional, but merely someone with a diploma. That is why lifelong learning is not a slogan, it is a necessity. Never forget this’.

 

The importance of experience and education was also emphasized by the Director of the institute, Mykhailo Kapitsa. He shared the example of a 35-year-old head of a major construction group in Dnipro that is developing the site of the former ‘Kvity Dnipra’ enterprise in the Topolia-1 residential area. Not long ago, he had been a participant in the institute’s preparatory courses, and today he has earned five higher education degrees. He began as a lawyer, continued with public administration, and later completed three construction-related specialties. According to him, all this knowledge is invaluable, as it is the combination of education, practical experience, and a commitment to continuous development that makes a true professional.

During the diploma awarding ceremony, Professors Anatolii Radkevych and Mykhailo Kapitsa addressed each graduate with warm words of encouragement and wishes for professional success. Mariia Bezzub, a second-year student and the head of the institute’s student council also joined the congratulations  and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the university and the institute for maintaining a high standard of education and continuously developing the material and technical base even in challenging times. She also highlighted the responsibility and perseverance demonstrated by this year’s graduates.

 

For the graduates, the master’s diploma became not only a certificate of education, but also a symbol of resilience, professional growth, and readiness to build their own path in the recovery and development of Ukraine. We cordially congratulate the graduates.
