Day of Honoring the Participants in the Aftermath Liquidation of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident
On December 14, Ukraine pays tribute to the heroic and selfless individuals who risked their lives and health to contain the accident and save the country and the world from radioactive contamination caused by the 1986 technological disaster at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
This day serves as a reminder of the critical importance of safety measures in the field of nuclear energy. This message is especially poignant now, as Ukraine resists Russian aggression and faces threats of a new nuclear catastrophe posed by the occupiers.
Our deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude go out to all the liquidators who made a significant contribution to overcoming the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster.
Eternal memory to those who gave their lives to halt the nuclear storm, shielding future generations from tragedy.
May the horrors of the Chornobyl catastrophe remain in the past and never be repeated.
