Coordination Meeting of the International Project VETpartEx Held at USUST

On May 5–6, 2025, the SEI PSACEA of Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted a coordination meeting of the participants of the international project VETpartEx (“Future-Oriented Vocational Education in the Construction Sector of Ukraine”), implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme “Capacity Building in Higher Education”.

The main goal of the project is to establish a modern vocational education system for workforce training in the construction sector, which is especially relevant for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

The event was attended by:

  • Rector of USUST, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi;
  • Director of the SEI PSACEA, Professor Vladyslav Danishevskyi;
  • Project coordinator from USUST, Associate Professor Oleksandr Zhadanos;
  • Project manager, Associate Professor Nataliia Chernova;
  • Partners from Germany – Professors Mark Krüger and Michael Ertz;
  • Faculty members of the SEIs of PSACEA and DMetI.

On the first day of the meeting:

  • The structure of the future Center for Vocational Education and Innovation was discussed. This center is expected to become a key component in the implementation of the project.
  • A strategy for the dissemination of results was defined, along with directions for external representation and the integration of a unified risk register into the quality management system. According to Oleksandr Zhadanos, the Center will help coordinate the efforts of educational and research units, while the centralized risk register will ensure stability in achieving the project goals.
  • Participants also visited the Energy Innovation Hub of the SEI PSACEA, where they got acquainted with equipment used to study the thermal properties of construction materials.

On the second day of the meeting:

  • Participants discussed the challenges of vocational education together with representatives of the Dnipro Industrial Pedagogical College.
  • The focus was placed on the development of new educational programs for teachers, the implementation of modern teaching methods, and the modernization of vocational training based on international best practices.
