Charity Fair at USUST
On December 5 and 6, students, teachers, and personnel of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies held a charity fair. The event was organized for Volunteer Day and on the eve of the Armed Forces Day of Ukraine and St. Nicholas Day.
At the fair, visitors could purchase homemade baked goods, holiday postcards, handmade jewelry and souvenirs, paintings, and other creative works. All proceeds will go towards gifts for children from orphanages. “Each purchase became a contribution to a good cause, as the collected funds will go to gifts for children from orphanages, giving them faith in miracles,” said Vladyslava Hunko, Acting Head of the USUST Student Council.
Representatives from all university institutes participated in the event. “This is not just charity — it’s an example of unity and mutual assistance,” added Veli Bekirov, First Deputy Chairman of the Student Council of SEI PSACEA.
USUST’s charitable activities cover assistance to Ukrainian defenders, displaced persons, children, and other people in need:
- For military personnel: fundraising for equipment, medicines, clothing, and technology.
- For the wounded: providing necessary means and medications at STOP points.
- For displaced persons: providing temporary housing in dormitories, ensuring food, medicines, and clothing.
- For children: clothing, toys, school supplies, and sweets.
“Victory is achieved not only on the front lines but also in the rear, through the daily work of each individual,” emphasizes Vira Zhuravel, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Humanities at the Institute of Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology and a volunteer at the “Right to Life” Foundation.
Vira Zhuravel also noted: “Thanks to the support of Rector Kostiantyn Sukhyi, we do great things for the country every day. We have been collaborating with the Charitable Foundation ‘Right to Life’ for three years now. Recently, we signed a Memorandum with European partners, particularly from Germany. We are moving together — towards Victory!”
