Celebratory Concert for the 125th Anniversary of USUST

On June 13, 2024, a festive concert was held at the Palace of Culture of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the university’s establishment and success. The event gathered numerous guests – government representatives, teachers, students, and graduates.

The concert was hosted by Stanislav Radzimovskyi, head of the USUST Center for Culture, Arts, and Media, and Kseniia Bashybular, a talented singer, star volunteer, participant of the volunteer project “Cultural Landing,” and graduate of the SEI USUCT. The director of the event was Oksana Radzimovska, director of the USUST Center for Culture, Arts, and Media.

Acting Rector of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Kostiantyn Sukhyi, addressed all guests with a welcoming speech. He drew the attention of those present to the fact that the first brick laid in the foundation of our university 125 years ago had great significance for our present and future. “By celebrating this solemn event, we pay tribute to all scientists and teachers for whom the development of education and science in Dnipro has become a life’s work,” he noted.

A very emotional moment of the concert was the performance by Yelyzaveta Lazarian, great-granddaughter of Academician Vsevolod Lazarian. She sang the song “By the Poplar,” dedicated to Ukrainian defenders. “I am very pleased to be on this stage, and I am grateful to the Rector of the University of Science and Technologies for the fact that my great-grandfather’s life’s work lives on, develops, and keeps pace with the times even during the war,” Yelyzaveta noted.

Incredible singing by Lada and Dana Krylovetska from the SEI “Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture”
Presentation of the designer collection “Charming Ukrainians” by Victoria Kolesnyk, a student of the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology”
Singing cadets from the Department of Military Training of the State Special Transport Service

Acting Rector of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Kostiantyn Sukhyi, awarded the directors of educational and scientific institutes with honorary distinctions “Leader of Education and Science of Dnipro.”

“The 125th anniversary of USUST is not just the anniversary of one university, but also the anniversary of higher education in Dnipro. We are proud of our traditions and strive for new heights. We are confident that USUST will continue to be one of the best universities in Ukraine,” proclaimed Kostiantyn Sukhyi.

The concert concluded with the performance of the anthem of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, “Together We Are Stronger.”

The celebratory concert for the 125th anniversary of USUST’s establishment and success became a true celebration for all who visited the university’s Palace of Culture, as USUST is not just an educational institution, but also a center of culture, inspiration, and patriotism.
