BC ‘Dnipro’ triumphant season and USUST contribution to the development of Ukrainian basketball
The Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies once again demonstrates its reputation as an institution that educates not only highly qualified professionals, but also true champions. The university’s motto ‘We educate champions and the coaches of champions!’ vividly reflects the achievements of its students, graduates, and mentors in the field of sports.
For the third consecutive year, BC ‘Dnipro’ has reaffirmed its status as the strongest basketball team in the country by winning the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague championships in 2024, 2025, and 2026. This remarkable winning streak has become a historic achievement for Dnipro basketball and a testament to the high level of athlete preparation, professionalism of the coaching staff, and effectiveness of the club’s development system.
The success of BC ‘Dnipro’ represents not only a sporting triumph, but also a powerful example of stability, professionalism, and dedication to the advancement of Ukrainian basketball, even during challenging times for the country.
The championship marked the 35th season of Ukraine’s premier basketball tournament and lasted from October 3, 2025, to May 2026. The regular season concluded on March 29, 2026, while the decisive playoff games took place throughout April and early May. Throughout the season, Ukraine’s leading clubs demonstrated a high level of competition, yet BC ‘Dnipro’ once again proved its championship caliber.
Head of the Department of Sports Games, Professor Olena Mitova noted that the club’s victories in 2024, 2025, and 2026 became a great achievement for the entire basketball community of the city of Dnipro and pride for USUST and its Department of Sports Games.
Many representatives of BC ‘Dnipro’ have studied and continue to study at the department, from the club’s management and coaching staff to players, administrators, and members of the refereeing community. Such close cooperation between the university and professional sports is a strong example of the successful integration of quality education, scientific approach, and athletic excellence.
USUST sincerely congratulates club president Valerii Kondratiev, vice president Valerii Huliaiev, head coach Volodymyr Koval, coach Oleksandr Muntian, administrator Mykhailo Shkoda, team captain Stanislav Tymofieienko, as well as team players Maksym Zakurdaiev, Roman Bondarchuk, Yevhen Sorochan, Serhii Zahreba, and Danylo Popov.
This victory shows that USUST not only trains highly qualified professionals, but also shapes a new generation of leaders, athletes, and coaches who proudly represent the city of Dnipro and Ukraine at the national level.
