A Successful End to the Year for USUST Track and Field Athletes
On December 20–21, 2024, the Dnipropetrovsk Region Winter Track and Field Championship for adults took place in the city of Dnipro. Students of the SEI of DMetI of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies showcased outstanding performances.
- Alona Chass (group ME-03-22) won the triple jump with a result of 13.01 m and the long jump with a mark of 5.87 m.
- Ivan Furdui (group ML-01-24-M) triumphed in the men’s triple jump with a distance of 15.01 m.
- Kyryl Fateiev (group EP-01-23) claimed first place in the 60 m hurdles race.
- Viktoriia Babak (group ME-03-22), returning to competition after a long injury recovery, earned two silver medals in the triple jump and long jump.
- Valerii Dziuba (group ME-07-24-M) was the runner-up in the 1000 m race, while
- Mark Nikolaienko (group UA-2111) secured third place in the 60 m sprint.
Special recognition goes to Valeriia Zatserna (group ME-03-21-1) and Denys Tyshchenko (group ME-03-24-M), who delivered commendable performances and demonstrated their athletic prowess.
The next challenge for our athletes will be the Ukrainian Adult Championship, scheduled for January 25–26, 2025, in Kyiv.
