Spring Celebration at USUST: “Women’s Strength Gives Us Wings”
On March 4, 2025, in honor of Ukrainian Women’s Day and International Day of Girls and Women in Science, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies hosted the celebration “Women’s Strength Gives Us Wings.” The event brought together the most talented, creative, and dedicated women of the university – teachers, scientists, staff, and students – who contribute daily to advancements in education, science, and management.
The festive atmosphere was felt even before the event began: the university’s foyer transformed into a spring fairy tale with a themed photo zone, paintings by students, easels featuring blooming sakura, and a red carpet. All of this added to the solemn mood, thanks to the efforts of the student council, which warmly welcomed guests.
The rector of USUST, Kostiantyn Sukhyi, congratulated the women of the university and presented honorary awards “Women’s Strength USUST – 2025” in five categories:
“Delicate Wings of Science” – Awarded to outstanding women scientists who bring fame to the university with their achievements:
- Tetiana Lukianenko – Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, USUST
- Nataliia Mitina – Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety, USUST
- Olena Pikulina – Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Psychology, USUST
- Sofia Bielikova – Senior Lecturer of the Department of Transport Infrastructure, USUST
- Oleksandra Afanasieva – Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, USUST
- Anzhela Nadtochyi – Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Metallurgical Processes, USUST

Male colleagues sincerely congratulated the awardees, and the concert program by students of the Center for Culture and Arts became a true gift. Talents included:
- Anna Nas set the hall on fire with her energetic performance of “I Feel Good.”
- Daniela Chebotarova enchanted everyone with her graceful performance “Gymnast.”
- Oleksii Chumak, a winner of international competitions, performed the touching composition “In Memory of Caruso.”
- Mr. and Miss USUST performed an elegant, charming waltz for the audience.
- Masha Verbytska concluded the evening with a heartfelt performance of “Women’s Strength,” while students held red symbolic hearts.
A special highlight of the event was the footage on the big screen – thanks to the skill of the university photographer, each participant saw herself in a new light: illuminated by spring, inspired, and beautiful.
