Dear colleagues,

I sincerely congratulate you on the anniversary — the 100th anniversary of the Department of Electrometallurgy named after Academician Mykhailo Ivanovych Hasyk!

This is a significant event not only for the department but also for the entire university community and Ukrainian science as a whole. Over the past hundred years, the department has followed a path marked by achievements, discoveries, and a deep sense of responsibility to both society and the industry.

The history of the department is the history of people who have devoted their lives to metallurgy: teachers, scientists, engineers, and graduates who not only preserved but also multiplied its achievements. They laid a strong scientific foundation that continues to support the development of metallurgical education and industry in Ukraine.

Today, the Department of Electrometallurgy carries on this legacy with dignity. Its faculty, researchers, postgraduate students, and students remain at the forefront of engineering science, working on technologies that meet the challenges of our time — from superalloys for the defense industry to green steel for environmentally responsible production.

The names of Stepan Telnyi, Svyryd Khytryk, Mykola Chuiko, and Mykhailo Hasyk are a source of pride for Ukrainian and global metallurgy. They established a scientific school that continues to shape a new generation of specialists — educated, ambitious, and ready to change the world.

I express my sincere gratitude to the department’s team for their dedication, enduring passion for science, and readiness to innovate. I am confident that ahead lie new developments, new victories, and new generations who will continue the department’s glorious tradition.
