Greeting from the Rector of USUST on Unity Day of Ukraine 2026

Greeting from the Rector of USUST on Unity Day of Ukraine 2026

On 22 January, we mark the Unity Day of Ukraine – a day that has become a symbol of the historical unity of our state and proved Ukrainians’ aspiration to stand together, build a shared future, and take responsibility for it. The Act of Unification of 1919 demonstrated that the idea of unity has deep roots and remains a source of strength for our people.

Today, this day carries special meaning. In conditions of war, constant shelling, and severe challenges, when thousands of Ukrainians are forced to work and study under long power outages, unity is expressed not in slogans, but in daily resilience, mutual support, and responsibility for each other. Our unity is our resilience in the face of hardship, our faith in victory, and our shared work for the future.

For the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, unity means the unity of knowledge, generations, and values. It is the joint work of academic staff, researchers, and students who, despite all challenges, continue to hold the educational and scientific front, shaping Ukraine’s intellectual potential.

On this day, we remember with deep gratitude our defenders, who protect the freedom and independence of our state. Due to their courage, we are able to study, work, and believe in a peaceful future.

I sincerely wish you all strength of spirit, resilience, mutual support, and faith in Ukraine. May Unity Day once again remind us that together we can stand firm, rebuild the country, and preserve it for future generations.

Happy Unity Day of Ukraine!

Sincerely,
Kostiantyn Sukhyi
Rector of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies
