Rector’s Greeting on International Students’ Day

Dear Students!

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on International Students’ Day!

This holiday serves as an important reminder of your immense potential, your responsibilities, and your opportunities as future leaders of our nation. Each of you possesses a unique talent capable of changing the world for the better. Your student years are the perfect time to develop the key skills that will accompany you throughout your life.

Yet, despite the celebration, we must not forget the harsh reality: for the third consecutive year, Ukraine is heroically defending its right to freedom and a happy future against Russian aggression. Simply put — its right to life. We owe boundless gratitude to our defenders. It is their courage and bravery that allow you to pursue peaceful professions, to grow, to dream, and to take action today. Our struggle continues, and your front is here — in lecture halls, laboratories, and research venues. The state grants you the opportunity to study, develop, and shape the future of Ukraine. This is a great privilege but also a tremendous responsibility. You must learn and do everything in your power to ensure our country achieves victory and a long-awaited peace.

Learning, participating in scientific projects, competitions, initiatives, student governance, and active collaboration with peers — all of this helps you to cultivate professional and leadership qualities, as well as build determination and perseverance. These are the years when you have the chance to master effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, peaceful conflict resolution, and the coordination of others’ efforts. The ability to collaborate in a team, defend your position, and simultaneously consider the interests of others is crucial in today’s world.

I can attest from personal experience that your student years will be a pivotal stage in shaping your identity. Each step, each goal you strive for, strengthens your character and enhances your individuality. May your dreams know no bounds, and may your future achievements serve the welfare of the Ukrainian people and progressive humanity as a whole.

I wish you strength, inspiration, and persistence on your path to success! Grow, overcome challenges, love Ukraine, and confidently move towards your goals.
