Yaroslava Mahuchikh Sets New World Record

On July 7, 2024, Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh stunned the world by achieving an incredible victory at the Diamond League event in Paris. The 22-year-old athlete jumped 2.10 meters, becoming the first woman in history to clear this height! This phenomenal result not only broke the world record that had stood since 1987 but also became a new personal best for Yaroslava.

After her triumphant performance, Yaroslava shared her emotions: “Finally, I’ve written Ukraine into the history of world athletics. It was an incredible jump, and I managed to break the record on my first attempt! It’s fantastic! I’m looking forward to the Olympic Games – it will be a great competition, and I’ll do everything possible to win!”

The Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, where Yaroslava is a student, was merged with the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 351-r dated April 23, 2024.
